Mountaintop Faith How to Get Where We Are Going
What if I told you that you lack nothing, and who you are at this very moment is complete?
The goals, dreams and desires you achieve in life will make you feel as if you are on top of a mountain, but there will always be a longing to do more at times. You will still feel as if you are empty or striving to gain approval from man and God. Once you reach the top of a mountain, you will always have to come back down and conquer another. So how do you keep that feeling of achievement and a sense of being complete constant in your life, without feeling inadequate?
We see this word engraved on bracelets, framed in art, sung in our favorite worship songs and written in books. Faith defined in the dictionary is “belief that is not based on proof”. It takes faith to believe you are exactly where God wants you to be. To believe that you are made whole, lacking nothing at this very moment, is only done by faith in Jesus. To believe that God loves you, no matter the location you currently are at, whether in the valley or at the peak, you can do nothing to add or take away from how much He loves you.
Due to social media, we can get stuck in our heads, comparing ourselves to one another. This only causes death to those dreams He placed in you. It halts the momentum and speed you are currently moving at. I will start working toward a goal and get sidetracked by scrolling through Instagram, caught up in what everyone else is doing. Suddenly, I am no longer compelled to continue whatever I am working on because I start comparing myself to others.
God-inspired dreams are a beautiful part of having a relationship with Jesus. God wants you to pursue them and succeed, but never alone. When we get stuck in comparison, and keep our heads in social media, we start to feel forgotten. So, as the month of July comes to an end, don’t condemn yourself for what you have not completed. Don’t compare your life to others. Remember that this life is a journey. The Holy Spirit often reminds me, “God is with you, but is waiting for you to hold up your end of the bargain in pursuing His plans for your life.”
Faith in God takes the pressure off you from having to do things on your own. Faith provides the substance needed to get you to the top of the mountain. God will never ask from us what He hasn’t already provided in us. He will always have us bring our gifts and talents to a certain part of that mountain, then ask us to trust Him to take us to the top. Mountains come and go, but the presence of God in your life will never cease. In Him, we are made whole, lacking nothing, which is why when we make it to those mountain tops, He gets all the glory.
