Living on Purpose

Making Life Count

Life is an awesome gift, but once it’s unwrapped, it isn’t always a bed of roses. It comes with thorns like unwanted and unexpected turns, pain, and disappointment; however, that doesn’t take away from the bottom line: life is a gift. As you mature and experience life, you learn to appreciate that gift more—you realize that life is short and that there’s more to it than just existing.

Many people struggle with the question, “Why am I here?” I believe we struggle with finding our purpose because we struggle with accepting who we are as individuals; after all, how do you live a life of purpose when you haven’t discovered who you are as an individual? We are living in a time that is inundated with images of prestige and status from social media and television. These images can lead us down wrong paths, causing us to live pointless and frustrated lives with no sense of direction.

Living and walking with purpose start with discovering who you are as an individual, not who others say you are.

I am consistently amazed that although there are so many people in the world, God has given me a specific, unique task, something that only I can do. And, the same goes for you! How amazing is that? You were created with a purpose in mind, and you are fearfully and wonderfully made. Each day that you are given is a sign that there is something more for you to do here on earth; but it’s up to you to pursue it!

However, let me warn you that in pursuit of purpose, you will encounter hindrances, namely, comfort and fear. We often create comfort zones where we become complacent and unwilling to be challenged or stretched, and as a result, we are hindered in walking with purpose. At some point in life, we have all struggled with comfort zones and fearing the unknown, but we each only get one life, so we have to just go for it in faith!

I find that often what someone is passionate about is either their purpose or is leading them towards their purpose. So, break out of that box of fear and comfort! I know that it’s not easy and that it may not all become clear immediately, but as you step out, it will become more clear with each passing day and effort you make. God will make it known.

Ladies, God created you to be more than a conqueror, and not only are you highly thought of, but also you have a special assignment here on earth. And, living on purpose is so rewarding and refreshing. It’s like there’s a target in the distance, and every day you’re aiming to hit that target, specifically in line with purpose. You are no longer wondering and wasting precious time; rather, you are living an intentional life. Instead of just existing, you can now say, “I’m making life count!”

I’m cheering for you, and I can’t wait to see how God uses you and causes you to soar!
