Small ways to rekindle your drive
Making the most of life starts with your mindset
It is easy to get wrapped up in the time consuming tasks of everyday life. There is almost always something that demands your attention: family, work, school, and the list goes on. During busy seasons of life or when your plans fall through, you may lose sight of why you are doing what you are doing. When your actions seem pointless, you lose motivation. This means activities that once were exciting become monotonous. God wants us to enjoy our life, not just endure it. He wants us to live an abundant, fulfilling life (John10:10). It is up to us to employ this in our day-to-day lives, but how?
It all starts with making a choice to do so. Ask God what it is that He has for you to do. Pray and take time to personally reflect on your desires. Make plans to make those desires become a reality. While it is true that there is often a huge difference between what you want to do and what you have to do, working hard and planning for the future is essential to completing both. God desires that we give our all in each task we are given (Col 3:23).
When you choose to view everyday as an opportunity to walk in God’s purpose for your life and get closer to your dreams, even the mundane tasks become less draining. Remember: your mindset is a huge factor in your ability to succeed. Having a positive mindset and keeping your personal goals in mind will help keep you motivated. If you want to accomplish your dreams, you must keep life in perspective.
Surround yourself with positive people and those with similar goals. Take time to remind yourself of God’s promises to you. Making the most of life starts with your mindset.
