Proving that beauty really is in the eye of the beholder, journalist, blogger and freelancing reporter for KCUR, Esther Honig, decided to experiment with the notion of facial beauty. Photoshopping her face to illustrate ideal beauty standards in 25 different countries, Honig found that every country’s idea of beauty differed from the next. To conduct her experiment, Honig contacted various freelancers around the globe with her image, asking them to enhance the photo with Photoshop to make her look beautiful. According to Honig, the project taught her that “when we compare [different countries’] standards [of beauty] on a global scale, achieving the ideal remains all the more illusive.” Five years after his death, the world still relishes in the influence and change Michael Jackson brought to the music world. Friends, family and fans came together on Wednesday to celebrate and remember the King of Pop for the fifth anniversary of his death. Jackson, famously known for both his solo work and his work with the Jackson 5, died June 25, 2009 while preparing for a comeback tour. He has three children, Prince, 17, Paris, 16, and “Blanket,” 12. All three were taken in by their grandmother, Katherine Jackson, after Michael Jackson’s death.

Thursday’s World Cup match between Germany and the USA proved to be one of the most defining moments for Team USA. Though they lost to Germany, they will advance to the knockout round because of Portugal’s win over Ghana. The USA’s goal differential (0) for the first few games was superior to Portugal’s (-3), which ultimately secured them a spot in the next round. Cheer on Team USA in their next match against Belgium on Tuesday, July 1!

After working on and off with contestants on the reality show, “The Biggest Loser,” trainer Jillian Michaels announced that she will not be returning for the show’s 16th season. After contestant Rachel Frederickson’s shocking 155-pound weight loss this previous season, Michaels seemed to be unhappy with how the season went, and was concerned with the checks and balances between the trainers and the contestants after the season’s close. Further details about season 16 are set to be revealed at a later date.

Starting next week, Starbucks will raise its prices on some drinks and the packaged coffee sold in stores. Your favorite caffeine fix could be as much as 20 cents more than it is now. Grande and Venti sized drinks will increase between 10 and 15 cents, and lattes and mochas will increase between 15 and 20 cents. If you like to keep your drinks tall, or are more into Frappuccinos, you’re in luck. Both tall sized drinks and Frappucino pricing won’t change.

After growing up on TLCs “19 Kids and Counting,” Jill Duggar and her fiancé Derick Dillard said, “I do” in Springdale, Arkansas on Saturday. Duggar and Dillard, who both share and adhere to conservative religious philosophies, shared their first kiss at the altar after they officially wed. The two got engaged on March 29 after their courtship. Jill is the first daughter, and second child, in the family to get married.

With auditions finished and the grueling, miserable Vegas week over, “So You Think You Can Dance” has named their top 20 dancers who will continue on in the competition to become America’s favorite dancer. Ten lucky ladies and ten lucky guys will hit the stage alongside four winning dance crews to compete for the coveted title. Live shows will begin Wednesday, July 2. This week, PETA revealed the winner’s of their annual Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity contest. Oscar winner and musician, Jared Leto, and Juno star, Ellen Page took home the title, beating out others such as, Ariana Grande, Samuel L. Jackson, and Sarah Silverman. Previous Sexiest Vegetarians include Natalie Portman, Olivia Wilde and Leona Lewis.
