Celebrate Your Success

Reward yourself for getting things done

It’s June. You’re halfway through the year. How does it feel to look back and see what you’ve accomplished so far? Think of the many hours invested in your endeavors, the sacrifices you made and the ideas you brought into fruition. Now is a great time to celebrate your hard work and success!

Take a load off. Open up your laptop and look around for a weekend getaway with some girlfriends or alone. Don’t forget your bathing suit to relax and hang out by the pool with a good book or magazine. While you’re there, take a relaxing swim. You may as well enjoy it all while you’re there.

If you’re not interested in booking a hotel stay or trip, take a week off from work (if you can). Even if that means working your nine-to-five job and then taking a load off when you get home –all week! Try it. Lock up in your home or apartment and veg out. Rent some movies, light some candles, take a hot bubble bath, read or search the web for leisure – not work.

Another great idea is to host a dinner party. Purchase a cake and banner that reads, “Celebrating Success.” You never know. Others who have lacked creativity, productivity or success in their own lives throughout the year could be inspired from your event. So go for it.

Whatever you decide to do, the key is celebrating your success. Remember, you’ve worked hard for it. You’ve put in the time and effort. And while you’re celebrating, don’t forget to give God some praise! Without Him, it would’ve just been a great idea. Yet, with Him, that’s where the provision and success were gained. It’s totally okay to shout a loud, “Hallelujah,” right here!

Enjoy this moment. Breathe in the relief of the completed work. Yet also, bask in the summer breeze, because before you know it, winter will be around the corner – and so will the next endeavor. So take advantage of this created downtime. The Bible tells us there’s a time and season for everything. On that note, take this moment for a job well done and celebrate your success.
