Declutter Your Thought Life
Let’s face it. When you have a lot on your plate, your mind runs completely rampant! Before you get out of the bed in the morning, does your mind race with all the things that you need to do that day? Better yet, do you go to bed wondering how you are ever going to get everything done? Try something different the next time the Lord blesses you with a fresh, new day. Open the blinds, let the sunlight in, hit the coffee pot, and center your mind on positive things. In other words, declutter your mind and surrender every bad, negative or doubtful thought. I Peter 5:7 encourages, “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares for you.” (NLT)
That’s right! He cares for you. So instead of meditating on the long to-do list, refocus your mind on what God’s word says. Don’t worry or fret. Give Him everything and keep a positive outlook on your day. Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit your work to the Lord and your plans will be established.” (NIV)
When you apply this golden principle to your life, you will be amazed at the outcome! Decluttering your mind and replacing it with a fresh, new perspective and focused prayer will, by far, thrust you into productivity. So don’t allow doubt, self-pity, procrastination, and a defeated attitude to stop you from reaching your full potential.
Whether it’s attaining your fitness goals, reaching a deadline, writing that chapter of a new book, working on a new project, or simply cleaning your house--don’t allow a negative mindset to kill your progress and zap your strength. Get motivated again! Encourage yourself in the Lord and get moving in the right direction. You may need to put on a little praise music to get moving.
It’s high time to derail negative thoughts and get back on track. Don’t let doubt stop you from achieving your best results. Instead, regain your focus. Get your joy back. Move forward in faith and abandon the negative mindset. It’s time to declutter your thought life and focus on what’s more important. Go for it!
