Taking Your Dream from Simmer to Sizzle
Making your dream a reality
When you were a kid, you dreamed of what you would be when you grew up. You spent countless hours daydreaming about it. That was the beauty of having an imagination at such a young age. Before you knew it, you were an adult and your dreams were put on hold. You didn’t forget about it—you were simply responsible for other things. A career and/or kids happened. These are both legitimate reasons to wait on your dream. Fortunately, your thoughts can lead you toward making a dream possible again. You have the power to take your dream from simmer to sizzle!
It all starts with a decision. You get to decide if you see you dream come to life. The key word is: decide. There’s a big difference between the people who say what they will do and the people that actually put in the work to accomplish it. Have you talked about your dream, but you haven’t done a thing to move toward it? It happens to everyone. Once you pursue it, things happen.
The fear that has held it captive for so long will finally release its hold. Find a mentor to gain valuable insight. A business coach can also help you develop a plan of action. Maybe your dream has encountered roadblocks along the way. The good news is that this is temporary. You have the opportunity to navigate your dream. Do you want to get your dream past the simmering stage? Add a big spoonful of belief to it, and watch it begin to sizzle. You want the kind of belief that is unshakeable, the kind that you feel in your very core. Follow its lead because it will take you places you’ve never been!
It can feel scary to dive right in, but only having your toes in the water is scarier. Envision the best thing that could happen instead of the worst. Look in the mirror and tell yourself that you are worth it. Meanwhile, check the temperature on your dream. If the heat is too low, you may not see any results in the near future. If you bring it to medium temperature, you’ll begin to notice things taking place. You’ll still be in your comfort zone. You can spend some time here observing and planning, too. As the temperature rises, pay close attention to that noise that you hear. Your dream is now starting to take shape into something real. It’s no longer a mere thought. Now it doesn’t seem so impossible after all.
