It’s in the Bag: July 4 Holiday Cookout Tips
Will you be cooking your July 4th meal at a location other than your home? If you’re prepping a large quantity of meat and vegetables for a gathering, here’s a tip to make transporting it all so much easier. Purchase plastic storage bags in the 2 ½ gallon size. Season or marinate your food items and place them in the large bags. Consider purchasing a couple of large insulated cooler bags from your local grocer to transport the bags once you fill them.
Using bags instead of aluminum pans or those large cumbersome coolers eliminates any possibility of the food tipping over and marinade and raw juices spilling while in transport. It also keeps your food completely immersed in the seasonings and marinades.
