Soulful Spring Cleaning

Write a Letter

Write a letter to someone who has hurt you, with no intent for delivery. Knowing that this person will never read your writing, you don’t have to censor yourself. You can let it all out and let them have it. Then burn it, shred it, or throw it away! This can be a very intense and powerful exercise. It will likely bring up some uncomfortable feelings, but that’s okay. These are the things that you must work through in order to heal yourself, let go of that stuff, and move on. Be gentle with yourself after this process. Take a bath or do something relaxing that will soothe your soul. You may feel bad in the moment, but I promise you, after your tears dry, you will feel lighter. Give yourself the gift of release.

Throw It Out

Having too much stuff affects the way we feel internally. When we are surrounded by chaos and messiness, our brains feel cluttered.  Take a quick sweep of each room in the house. That kitchen gadget that you never use? Donate it or give it to a friend. Old toys and clothes from the kids’ room? Let them be of use for someone else. And I beg you to go through your closet and let go of every item of clothing that you just don’t feel good in! Especially ditch all those uncomfortable shoes! Nothing is worse than hanging on to stuff that you never wear. Make room for properly fitting shoes and clothes that you feel fabulous in, no matter what!

Make a Vision Board

Here is my favorite quote about vision boards: “Making a vision board is like having a craft day with God.” ~ Jen Sincelo. Now that you have cleared some space, both figuratively and literally, what better time to visualize what you want to bring into your life? Go through magazines or find images online of things that you desire in life. Find words or quotes that inspire you. Get your scissors, foam board, and glue stick, and have a spiritual craft day. Hang it somewhere where you will see it every day. In a year’s time, you might be surprised by how many things you have manifested into your beautiful life!
