The road to self-discovery is paved with many facets. Like a lump of coal becomes a sparkling stone after going through fire, self-discovery emerges only after enduring trials and hardships. Self-discovery allows us to realize that these hardships that make up the journey have made us better. I must say, I will be the first to admit that I am not a fan of drama or adversity; however, I know that much of what I faced in my life was not because of my own neglect, but naïveté.

One statement holds true: “you don’t know what you don’t know.” Through coaching and mentoring, I have discovered that I must first ask clients, “Do you know what you don’t know?” It may sound odd, but being able to articulate what you feel you are lacking actually stimulates your curiosity and creativity. Once you are open to discover what your life needs to be fulfilled and balanced, then you are able to search out avenues that lead to the success you seek. We tend to limit ourselves, living our live’s on other people’s terms; it is time to live for you.

I am thrilled to be among the guest speakers for Hope for Women Magazine’s Be True to YOU Conference in, Indianapolis, IN, on October 27, 2012. Yet, what causes my soul to leap for joy is being in the presence of women growing with each other – growing with me. What is more beautiful than women who willingly seek to improve their lives? As I prepare for the conference and the day nears, I ask that women remember one thing: the only sure way to move ahead and sustain your position is to BE TRUE TO YOU!

See you there!
