With cooler weather and so many great trends upon us, we should be inspired! It’s time we have some fun with our wardrobes. These are the three trends I will be adding to my closet this season:

Jewel Tones

I love the magnificently rich jewel tones hitting the runways this season! A few hints: if you have a cool skin-tone gravitate towards the vibrant and rich emerald green, lush royal blue, and of course enchanting ruby red! For those of you who have warm skin-tones look for chocolates, captivating forest green, and deep burgundy this fall.

Manda’s Styling Tip #1

If you are conservative but want to bring the vibrant colors into your wardrobe, then add pops of color with accessories. For the daring women: wear statement pieces in jewel tones. Try a great trench, sweater, or pant. Bringing in these incredible colors to your wardrobe will give you an extra boost!

Leather

Leather (or pleather for the budget and eco-conscience) is here to stay throughout the winter. It’s appearing in pieces from blazers to leggings, even accessories. When we think about leather, we get an edgy vibe. Don’t let this dissuade you! Celebrities like Kim Kardashian are turning leather into a feminine, chic statement.

Manda’s Styling Tip #2

For the conservative: try a great blazer. This will give you that little bit of edge to your classic style. If you walk a little more on the wild side, try a leather pencil skirt with an over-sized sweater or denim top. It’s all about playing with textures! Leather could be just the inspiration you need.

Prints

Last but not least, prints, prints, prints! This is actually a bit of a carry-over from the summer trends. To make this trend seasonal, mix prints. Try wearing stripes with polka dots or geometric prints (yes, I said it!).

Manda’s Styling Tip #3

Mixing prints can be a baffling task for some. Try keeping the prints in the same color family when you are starting out. It may be easiest to begin with neutral colors, working your way to the jewel tones as you become more comfortable. You must also keep scale in mind. Try mixing small prints first.

No matter what trends you will be trying this season, remember to dress with purpose. When you wake up the morning and begin mentally preparing to conquer your day choose an outfit you feel confident in. Confidence carries a woman. What you are wearing will translate to confidence in your daily life!
