Implementing Traditions into Your Daily Life!
As March is upon us, our activities will soon begin to change. You’ll no longer be stuck in-doors as spring’s finer weather beckons you outside. Whether you spend your time reading a favorite book on the front porch swing or revel in the grandeur of a newly planted garden, we invite you to check out these stories sure to make you fall in love with spring.
Little Women, by Louisa May Alcott, has been a beloved classic for many women. One of the traditions in this story involves the young sisters creating a club. With just their imaginations and enthusiasm, the girls find themselves bonding over shared passions. Do you have an interest that could turn into a club? Baking/cooking, exercise, reading – if you enjoy it, a club can be created!
Anne of Green Gables, by Lucy Maud Montgomery, is the sweetest book series for children and adults alike. The story’s setting takes place on a farm and, well, with farming comes gardening! Having a garden does not require a farm – you can enjoy a traditional garden with just a small outdoor space, or you may prefer a variety of indoor-friendly plants. Create a community with your green-thumb friends and explore the gardens and floral shops in your region. Dive into flowers, succulents, or even herbs!
The Giver, by Lois Lowry, is a short, amazingly descriptive book suitable for both you and any teenagers in your life. This book encourages you to look at “beating to our own drum.” Traditions are about being yourself and sharing that passion with others. Choose a personal interest or idea, share it with like-minded people, and you’ll soon be creating the tradition of YOU!
