A Reminder that No One Compares to You. Be Kind to Yourself

It’s become so easy to get wrapped up in social media and take what you see online as real life. The thing is it’s not as simple as what others make it seem. Everyone wants to be trendy and stay up-to-date with the latest fads, and it seems like you’re either part of the crowd or are trying too hard to break away and make it seem like you’re not part of it at all.

So, why not just be yourself? It’s good to highlight the ways in which we are all different. No one can be like you. We are all unique and have value in everything we do. There’s beauty in that, and it should not be forgotten.

Here are some ways in which you can’t be compared to others:

Socially

The way you socialize with others can’t be mimicked. Your tendencies when you communicate with others is what makes you memorable. Whether it’s your welcoming personality or your contagious smile, this is a reminder that you interact with others as only you can do.

Personally

Everyone has things they don’t like about themselves, but it’s how you respond to those things you don’t like that makes you, you. The way you take care of yourself is important. No one understands what it takes to be you, so do things that you genuinely enjoy. Self-expression is part of life, so don’t be afraid to show your true colors.

Physically

This is an easy one, but your physical attributes can’t be duplicated on anyone else. You were born the way you are for a reason. There is beauty in flaws and imperfections; your body carries you throughout your whole life and the way you treat it can’t be controlled or taken away by anyone else. You have the power. Embrace it.

Spiritually

What you believe in sets you apart from everyone else. You may see things online, but you may think differently and that’s okay. The way you protect your well-being and those around you is something that people online can see.

Mentally

Think about this: no one has the same mentality as you. Our frame of mind is influenced by how we are raised and what we learn during our childhood and experiences. Don’t sweat it! You don’t have to agree with every post you see on social media.

These factors are all rooted in how we are ultimately raised. Don’t allow what you see from other people put you in a negative state. Believe it -- you are worthy by just existing, so celebrate yourself more often!
