Styles for Your Body Type
Everyone is unique. From mentality to physicality, there are beautiful differences that set us apart. Within these differences are opportunities to present ourselves as the best versions possible. It can seem overwhelming at first when deciding to upgrade your lifestyle, but there’s no better place to start than the closet. Clothes have the ability to alter, not only our appearance, but the confidence we bring with it. Each body type has styles that complement the assets.
Triangle Body Type
Triangle bodies tend to have a waist that is bigger than their bust. In order to balance the proportions, statement tops that have a plunging neckline or bell-sleeves are going to become your best friend. Another great trick for this silhouette is investing in jackets that land at the waist. This will bring an emphasis to the top half of the figure and create a lengthening effect.
Hourglass Body Type
Those that have an hourglass figure have a well-defined waist with roughly even bust and hip measurements. Form fitting tops and v-necklines will display the waist while highlighting the décolletage. While making clothing purchases, stray away from boxy styles. These pieces won’t bring any focus to your silhouette. Show off that curvy figure!
Inverted Triangle Type
Inverted triangle bodies have shoulders that tend to be broader than their hips. Pieces that complement this silhouette are flowy, A-line shirts to help even the proportions. Relaxed, boyfriend fitting garments will become a closet staple. Hemlines that fall to the thigh are very flattering and exhibit those legs!
Rectangle Body Type
Hip and shoulder measurements are nearly the same for rectangle body types. While dressing this figure, it is important to remember keeping the volume on the top or the bottom. If you choose a more oversized top, pair with a skinny pant. Also, when wearing a form-fitted shirt, trying coordinating with a flowy pant.
