Hairstyles You Need to Try This Spring
Hairstylist Melissa Whitus discusses trending hairstyles you’ll see everywhere this spring. From mullets to curtain bangs, this season will be anything but boring. Next time you’re in the salon, ask about one of these new styles for spring!
Curtain Bangs
We’ve seen curtain bangs for a while now, and you’re going to continue to see them this spring. When asked how long this trend will stick around, Whitus answered “I feel like curtain bangs will be around for a while. You can do so much with them. They’re adaptable to everyone’s face shape, and you can tweak them to fit what you want.”
Chopped Locks
From younger to older, everyone is taking length off their hair. Whitus stated, “People are pretty over the long hair, they’re cutting it shorter than before. For the older demographics, I’ve noticed pixie cuts have worked the best for their face structure. The younger groups are typically lifting their hair to get rid of dead ends from coloring. It’s perfect for the spring and summer weather.”
Mullets
Mullets are back and stronger than ever. Whether you like them or not, they’ll be everywhere this spring. When asked if she liked this trend, Whitus said, “I have been doing several lately, I just had an appointment for one this week. They’re not my favorite, but I have seen a bunch throughout the youth. It is taking me back to the ’90s.”
Crazy Colors
For years, testing out wild colors has been popular. Surprisingly, this fad is still in style. Although it takes a toll on the health of your hair, the masks available today are able to give you the color without the dead ends. When stating how surprised she is that these bold colors are still trending, Whitus added, “The new hair masks that are coming out are keeping the bright, crazy colors going. These masks also keep the color for a few weeks. They condition and add color without having to be married to it. It’s perfect for testing out wild colors without having to keep coming back into the salon for adjustments.”
