Abiding in Him - Call Out!

Jeremiah 33:3, Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.

The Greek word call is quara, “to call out to someone, cry out, to shout”. The Hebrew word in Psalm 100, “shout joyfully to the Lord” means “to split the ears with sound; to shout for alarm or joy.” Each meaning has the same underlying thought: to praise, jump, clap, to kneel, bow, and/or to spin around.

Right now I’m in the place where I have had to shout out, call out for help. We may have a smile on our faces, putting on the big front, “I’m great,” “I’m feeling good.” The joy of the Lord is my strength but inside we are dying.

Have you been there? It’s a place of hopelessness, despair, loneliness, fear, sorrow. Darkness can overshadow us and depression can sneak up from behind.

BUT — for those of us who are Believers in the Son of the Living God, we can and should call out, “JESUS! ABBA! FATHER!”

We have the Creator, the One who died for us, the Comforter – Holy Spirit — always on call. Ready to rescue us. The secret is we have to call out. We have to shout out – “Help!” This should be the first thing we do: call out to The One who loves us. He can change it. Holy Spirit dwells in us. He already knows we are distressed, oppressed, suppressed and compressed!

This writer most recently has been there and I’ve decided that it is okay to say it. Come and rescue me. We can be (and I would say most of us who read this great magazine are!) independant, stubborn, rebellious (in a good way) and strong-willed. We know we can deal with whatever comes our way and we can “take care of it ourselves.” But after all we try to do and we find ourselves still there, it’s okay to say, “Yahweh Sabaoth (Lord of Hosts), come and rescue me.”

Zechariah 4:6 This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel saying, not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit says the LORD of Hosts. Proverbs 18:10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe.

He is our Lord of Hosts, our strong tower, our strength and He loves us!

Call out!

Let’s not spend another moment trying to get it done ourselves, let’s call out and have the joy of the Lord as our strength and our song. He’s waiting to hear from us.

Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!

    Hallelujah & Praise the Lord…

Our brother, King David "cried out to the Lord" all the time - even in his times of sin & shame and God calls him the "man after My own ♥" Let's call and cry out to The One who wants to hear our cries.

    Word, sister, word…………………..
