One exercise does not fit all.

Let’s be honest. Exercise is not necessarily what everyone wants to do. However, it is something that you need to do regularly. The good news is exercise can and should be fun. While your friends or family may look like the Rock, run for miles, or lift the heaviest of weights, you may be surprised to learn what other activities count as exercise.

The preferred exercise of your friend or family member doesn’t have to be yours. If you do not like running, don’t run. If you do not like going to the gym, that’s ok too; the gym is not mandatory to becoming fit and healthy. The goal is to simply be active for a  sustained number of minutes, preferably 30 minutes or more daily three or four times a week. Your activity does not have to meet conventional requirements either. Dancing is exercising. Riding your bike, walking, or skating around your neighborhood is exercising. Walking up and down the stairs of your home is exercise. Playing with your kids or pets is exercising. Gardening, while oftentimes light, is still exercising. Exercise can be enjoyable and the key is in not simply doing it but doing what you enjoy so much that you will exercise consistently.

The pandemic has made daily exercise all the more important. Not only does it help to keep your blood flowing while spending the majority of your time indoors, but it also helps your immunity. Studies prove that exercise, coupled with a nutritious diet, not only helps to control your weight but also boosts your immunity to naturally combat all sorts of health conditions and diseases. Exercise also improves your mood, bone and muscle flexibility, promotes better sleep, and helps you think clearly.

There is more than one benefit to exercising and it is to your advantage to discover which type fits. So, if you have not already, let’s get moving down the road of an improved you – a healthier, more vibrant you!
