Invest in a setting spray
This is a must-have product during those hot summer days. Spritzing three pumps of setting spray onto your face will act as an invisible mask and keep your makeup from becoming overly shiny. It’ll also prevent you from having to continually touch it up, which is a major plus.

Use cream shadows
You won’t have to worry about your eyeshadow smearing in the heat thanks to this long-lasting waterproof cream. It lasts 24 hours, which means it will remain vibrant from morning until night. To ensure you paint on your color evenly, wet down your eyeshadow brush with water first to help the product go on smoother. If you pick a color that shimmers, it can also double as highlighter!

Go for mermaid hair
It’s no secret that mermaid waves are summer’s go-to hair trend thanks to TikTok – they’re basically the modern-day version of the crimped hairstyle and they look good on anyone. To create them, you’ll need a waver like this one. Start by applying heat protectant to your tresses and wait until it’s fully dry to style otherwise your waves won’t hold. Then, take a section of hair and clamp it between barrels at the height of your eyes – don’t start at the very top of your head. Remember to use the lowest barrel wave as the start of your new wave as you work down the length of your hair. For more intense waves, hold the clamp down for a couple seconds longer. Let your waves cool and then finish off with a strong-hold hairspray.

Skip powdered bronzers
When the temperatures are high, powdered products can leave your skin feeling cakey. Avoid that feeling by switching over to a cream-based bronzing stick. It’ll stay put and won’t feel heavy on your skin. Just swipe it on, blend it in and you’ll have a sun-kissed glow in no time!

Go with waterproof brow gels
Achieving foolproof brows that are sweat-resistant and won’t melt in the heat is totally possible if you use a waterproof gel. The waxy substance will give your brows a natural, filled-in look that has extreme staying power. Just dip your eyebrow brush into the product, stroke it onto your brows and then blend the color with a spoolie.

Detox your hair
Keep your hair feeling smooth and clean with a detox shampoo. Using a dollop of product twice a week will remove the build-up sweat, dirt, leftover styling product and dead skin cells, giving your hair new life. If you have hair on the dyer side, leave it on for 3-5 minutes before you rinse it out, and if you have more oily hair, let it sit for 4-6 minutes.

Stick with liquid blushes
It’s true: bright powdered blush and humidity aren’t a winning combination. That’s why cheek stains, like this one, will become your best friend this summer. A little of this product goes a long way, though, so all you need are a couple of dots of product to achieve a pop of color.

Gloss your lips
Did you know that lip glosses help your lips maintain their moisture and plumpness during the summertime? They keep them hydrated and from drying out, while adding a pop of buildable color at the same time.
Tip: To give your lips some definition, trace them with a slightly darker lip liner first and then fill them in with the gloss.
