5 Self-Care Tips To Add To Your Beauty Routine
Self-care activities can be important in helping ensure good mental health, as well as caring for one’s physical health. Taking time for extra skincare or haircare steps not only helps improve skin and hair but can also help encourage relaxation. These steps do not need to be implemented every day, but can be added in once or twice a week when you have extra time. Whether you are looking for something quick and simple such as a face mask or have a little more time to devote, here are a few suggestions for your self-care beauty routine!
Invest in a Good Face Mask
Face masks are a great way to help give skin a weekly boost. Sheet masks and clay masks can be a quick and easy way to clarify or moisturize your skin. Another option is to make your own mask with a simple DIY recipe! Recipes can be found online and include basic ingredients you may already at home.
DIY Face Scrubs
Facial scrubs set the tone for a skincare routine. They help exfoliate and remove any dead skin and should only be used once a week. With so many scrubs to choose from, look for one that best suits your skin’s needs. Many facial scrubs are made from granulated sugar or coffee grounds which exfoliate the skin and have an oil or creamy base from sources like olive oil or coconut oil.
Deep Condition your Hair
Hair conditioning is another great addition to your self-care routine. A deep conditioning mask can be helpful in keeping hair moisturized and prevent future damage. These are especially helpful in the winter during the colder seasons when your hair may be in need of added hydration.
Your Feet Need Care Too!
While pedicures are one of the more well-known ways to help shape and keep your nails healthy, you may also want to add a foot peel to your pedicure routine. Foot peels typically use fruit acids to remove dead skin cells, callouses, and peeling skin through exfoliation. Submerge your feet in the solution for about an hour. Over the next week, all the dead skin will start peeling off revealing smooth, soft skin!
Eating Well for Hair Health
The foods you eat can also have an impact on your hair’s health and appearance. Eating a balance of proteins, healthy fats, fruits & vegetables, and staying hydrated can help ensure healthy locks!
