We have all been there before. That state of complete burn out where you feel so overwhelmed that you actually don’t care anymore. You have been pushed past the point of multi-tasking at a frantic pace to try to keep up and you may not even feel like getting out of bed. “Just have it all go away,” you are thinking, right? I hear you sister, I have been there too.
The question is what to do about it, right? Well, first off it is ideal to not allow yourself to hit a heavy bottom in the first place. Being uber-aware of how you are running your life is key and learning to completely and totally relax, or chillax, can be hugely beneficial in avoiding a full-out war on self.
Chillaxin’ entails that you let everything go. It means you allow yourself to be fully present to the moment, not your to-do list, and in the moment you are doing something completely for pleasure, such as sitting poolside with your honey, or hiding in your bedroom with a great book. It is about you indulging in one of your God-given rights… to enjoy your life. That is the point of all of this anyway, isn’t it?
Let go of the guilt that you should be doing something else… that something else isn’t going anywhere. Let go of the pressure of the clock tickin’… taking an hour to chillax isn’t asking too much. And let go of what you think other people would think if they knew you were chillaxin’ in the middle of the day on a Tuesday. Who cares anyway?
When you allow yourself downtime, you actually give yourself the chance to be more focused and productive when you are in go-mode. You are not only doing yourself a favor by keeping your mental and spiritual health in check, but you will be doing those around you a favor as well.
So… get your daily dose of chillaxin’ scheduled in and treat it like a client appointment that you would never flake on… you deserve it!
