But God Is Faithful

“This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope.
Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:21-23, NKJV

If there’s anything that I know for sure, it’s that God is FAITHFUL! In Lamentations 3, the prophet Jeremiah is prophesying about Jesus’ suffering and enduring the wrath of God. He said:

  • I’ve gone through the wrath of God,
  • My bones and teeth have been broken,
  • I’ve been made to walk in darkness and not in light,
  • I’ve been ridiculed and laughed at,
  • the Lord has forsaken Me and won’t hear Me,
  • I’ve been made the target for His arrows,
  • He’s blocked My way with a high wall,
  • I’ve been buried with those who have been dead for a long time,
  • He’s bound Me with heavy chains,
  • I’ve been made to drink a bitter cup of sorrow,
  • He’s torn Me to pieces -

YET, through all of this, Jesus said I still dare to have HOPE when I remember this! I may be cast down and broken, but I’m NOT consumed!

Why?

  • Because of the Lord’s great mercies!

Why?

  • because His compassions never fail!

Why?

  • because they’re new every morning! And the dawn is coming.

Why?

  • BECAUSE GOD IS FAITHFUL!!

Have you ever been through so much? Of course not. But, no matter what you’ve gone through or may be going through now, keep in mind that God is Faithful! And WHATEVER He’s promised you, no matter what it looks, feels, smells, taste or sounds like - He WILL fulfill every promise He’s made to you.

Why?

Because God is faithful until the very end!

    “He will fulfill every promise He has made to you.”

    So many times we think He will fulfill every promise He has made, to us. Not all promises are made to us-love this truth!

    God is good. I sat in front of my computer tonight so overwhelmed and consumed with various emotions. I took a brief break from my studies to read…I’m so glad I did. This was beyond a blessing for me this evening…God is faithful.
